That is how we started

The history of the place where we opened the Museum of the People's Republic of Poland begins at the end of the 19th century, in 1890, when the well-known German von Ballestrem family built the Dwór Nowa Ruda farmstead.

After the war, the property became the property of the State Treasury and was converted into a state-owned farm (PGR). After the closure of state-owned farms in Poland, the farmstead was left to its own devices and fell into increasing disrepair. You can see what it looked like in 2002 in the photos.

On 4 June 2010, on the 21st anniversary of the first democratic elections, we inaugurated the Museum of the Polish People's Republic with the exhibition ‘We start from the end...’, to which we cordially invite you.
